The Style Shop is a true jazz collective. Formed out of the ashes of Joe's Style Shop and Soundlab Recording Studios, the Style Shop found a collective thread in a desire to bring "the standards" to life with contemporary voices and styles.
As a collective, the Style Shop often features guest musicians sitting in to suit the spirit of the venue - additional percussion, vocals, or even a dj/turn-tablist have appeared as part of the Style Shop. We can adjust our instrumentation and style to fit any needs - cafe, art gallery, corporate social, party, etc...
At its core, the Style Shop is a solid, straight-up quartet featuring:
______________

Rob Meyer
Bass
Rob has been a fixture of the Sacramento Music scene, best known for his work with Grub Dog and the Amazing Sweethearts, which collected two SAMmies. Rob has returned to the jazz scene, previously playing with Jeez Louise, laying down cool bass grooves with a twist. He also continues to play with the (now Austin,TX-based) Amazing Sweethearts and the Sonny Boy Blues Band. |
______________
Pete Gaylord
Saxophones
Pete originally hails from north of the border, where he crafted his style on the stages of Toronto. After a long hiatus from the music scene, Pete has re-emerged with a vengance, and now also plays with the Sonny Boy Blues Band. He has also been a regular with Saxomania, and is a frequent guest with area bands. |

A long time multi-instrumentalist on the Chico music scene, Marcel has played piano with Chico's Salsa and Latin Jazz band, Los Papichulos, as well as drums with several different bands including rock, jazz and world music groups.
